Microsoft has stated that Windows 11 is now up to 20 percent more responsive, following months of fixes aimed at performance and reliability. The company reports that the operating system runs better on devices with 8GB of RAM, a result of broader efforts to improve the overall user experience.
Microsoft detailed improvements to specific components, including Start, File Explorer, Search, and the Edge browser, which are designed to make the system feel faster. Navjot Virk, corporate vice president of Windows experiences at Microsoft, attributed these gains to smarter use of memory and system resources. Virk explained that the company improved memory management and efficiency across the platform to help keep more of the user's data accessible.
These updates follow a plan laid out earlier in the year, which prioritized fixing performance issues and enhancing reliability. The current release marks the culmination of that multi-month effort to refine the operating system's core functions.
