We collect very little, we sell nothing, and we tell you exactly what happens to the data the brief does touch.

What we collect

We try to collect as little as the Service can run on. There are three sources of data: server logs created automatically when you visit, the email address you give us if you choose to subscribe, and anonymous analytics about how pages are read.

Server logs may include your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of the request. If you subscribe to the brief, we store the email address you submit and the date you signed up. We do not ask for, or want, sensitive personal information.

02

How we use it

We use server logs to keep the site running, diagnose errors and guard against abuse. We use your email address only to send the brief and occasional service notices about your subscription. We use analytics to understand which stories are read so we can cut what isn’t and keep the brief short.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.

03

Third parties and our CDN

NewsDialy is served through a content delivery network and hosting providers that process requests on our behalf. These providers may briefly handle your IP address and request data purely to deliver pages and protect the site. We may also use an email delivery service to send the newsletter and an analytics provider to count page views.

We share data with these providers only to the extent needed to run the Service, and we expect them to handle it securely. We do not otherwise share your data with third parties except where required by law.

04

Cookies and analytics

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies — some to make the site work, and some to measure traffic in aggregate. Analytics cookies tell us how many people read a story, not who you are.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though some preferences may not be remembered.

05

Data retention

Server logs are kept only as long as we need them for security and troubleshooting, then rotated out. Newsletter email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Aggregate analytics may be retained for trend analysis but cannot identify you on their own.

06

Your rights

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in every email. You can also ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will respond within a reasonable time.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local data-protection law. We honour those rights for all readers regardless of location.
