The National Institutes of Health is launching a redesigned website on Monday to make finding information about human health and biomedical research easier. The new site moves away from organizing content by individual institutes and centers, instead grouping resources into eight thematic hubs.
These hubs cover specific areas including health, research, data, clinical studies, rare diseases, technology, cancer, and grants. Agency officials state that this change is part of a broader project to consolidate the NIH’s digital footprint. The goal is to streamline what was previously a sprawling and fractured information ecosystem. Under the old system, users often had to understand the agency's organizational structure to find specific details.
The redesign aims to create an intuitive experience that reflects the type of information the public seeks most often. By shifting focus to these thematic categories, the NIH hopes to reduce the complexity of navigating its digital resources.
