Levi Strauss & Co. has appointed John Vandemore as its next Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, a role set to begin on November 1, 2026. The San Francisco-based company announced the hiring in a press release dated September 30, 2026, identifying Vandemore as the successor to Harmit Singh, who is preparing to retire.

Michelle Gass, President and Chief Executive Officer of Levi Strauss & Co., said the company is building a more direct-to-consumer business and transforming into a leading denim lifestyle retailer. Gass stated that Vandemore’s financial, operational, and consumer experience makes him the right partner to help the company reach its goal of becoming a $10 billion company.

Vandemore joins Levi Strauss & Co. from Skechers U.S.A., Inc., where he served as Chief Financial Officer for the past nine years. During his tenure at Skechers, the company grew to become the world's third-largest footwear brand with operations in over 180 countries. Under his leadership, Skechers nearly tripled its revenues to over $9 billion while expanding margins. He also oversaw operations functions, including supply chain, digital, and IT.

Harmit Singh, currently serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial & Growth Officer, announced his intent to retire in April 2026. Singh will remain in his current role until Vandemore starts. Following that transition, Singh will stay on as a Special Advisor through November 30, 2026.

Before his time at Skechers, Vandemore held senior finance roles at Mattel, Inc., International Game Technology, and The Walt Disney Company. He also worked at AlixPartners, LLC, Goldman Sachs & Co., Deloitte & Touche LLP, and PricewaterhouseCoopers early in his career. Vandemore holds a Master of Business Administration from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame.

Levi Strauss & Co. reported net revenues of $6.3 billion for 2025. The company sells jeans and casual wear under the Levi's, Levi Strauss Signature, and Beyond Yoga brands in approximately 120 countries through chain retailers, department stores, online sites, and about 3,300 retail stores and shop-in-shops.
